Plane Carrying US Defense Secretary Forced to Touch Down in UK Because of Crack in Cockpit Window

An aircraft transporting the US defense secretary was required to make an unscheduled landing in the UK on Wednesday after a crack was found in the plane's windshield, according to an official announcement which confirmed that all passengers were secure.

"The aircraft landed in accordance with standard procedures and everyone onboard, among them Pete Hegseth, is safe," a spokesperson commented in a social media post.

He was traveling back from a quick journey to the Belgian capital at the time.

This event isn't the initial instance that a US military aircraft carrying a high-ranking official has experienced mechanical issues.

Earlier this year, a United States Air Force aircraft carrying Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the city in Germany was required to return to Washington after suffering a technical issue.
